The Kalinin K-7 was a prototype heavy bomber designed and built in the Soviet Union in the 1930s. It was one of the largest aircraft of its time, with a wingspan of 53 meters and a length of 28 meters. The K-7 was powered by six engines and could carry a crew of up to 11 people.
The aircraft was intended to be used for long-range bombing missions and reconnaissance flights, but it never entered production. The only prototype of the K-7 crashed during a test flight in 1935, killing 14 of the 16 crew members on board.
Despite its failure, the Kalinin K-7 remains a significant and intriguing piece of aviation history, known for its ambitious design and colossal size. It has also inspired various works of fiction and speculation about what could have been if the aircraft had been successfully developed.
